About Anfold
Anfold is a food-and-training journal and assistant for iPhone and Android.
What Anfold is
You describe meals and workouts in your own words, and Anfold turns them into entries you review, with nutrition and training load worked out. Verified data where Anfold has it, labeled estimates where it doesn’t.
Anfold at a glance
- What it is
- A food-and-training journal and assistant.
- Where it runs
- iPhone (iOS 15.1 or later) and Android (7.0 or later). There’s no web app.
- Languages
- English and German, with metric or imperial units.
- How you log
- Describe meals and workouts in your own words, or add a photo. You review every draft before it counts.
- Food data
- Everyday foods from nutrition databases first (today USDA FoodData Central, with more being added), recalculated for how they were cooked. When there’s no match, AI estimates the values and labels them.
- Nutrients
- Calories, macros, fiber, water, omegas, and 30+ vitamins and minerals where the data has them, next to daily reference values.
- Training
- Calories burned and training load per muscle, for strength, running, cycling, swimming, yoga, team sports and more.
- Meal plans
- One to seven days, planned around the meals and workouts already on your schedule. Nothing lands in your day until you accept it.
- Assistant
- Answers from what you’ve logged, drafts entries from a message, and suggests meals that fit what’s left of your day. Six personalities.
- Price
- Free to download, with every feature on every plan. The AI parts use fuel: new accounts start with 30, and subscriptions add more each month.
- Made by
- Avocado Technologies UG (haftungsbeschränkt), Berlin, Germany.
- Good to know
- The numbers are estimates, not measurements. Anfold isn’t medical advice and doesn’t replace a doctor, dietitian or trainer.
Why it exists
Most people would benefit from a nutritionist. Most people don’t have one.
Anfold tries to fill some of that gap. It handles the logging, does the math, reads your week, and answers the kinds of questions you’d save for a dietitian or coach.
How you eat, train, sleep and feel lean on each other, so Anfold reads your meals, workouts and check-ins side by side. Sleep is on the way.
How the numbers are made
Anfold breaks a meal into ingredients, matches each one against nutrition databases, and recalculates the values for how the food was cooked. When there’s no usable match, AI estimates the values, and they’re labeled as estimates.
Calories burned start from standard MET values, adjusted for effort and terrain, and training load is worked out per muscle. AI reads your descriptions and drafts the entries. The arithmetic runs in code.
What Anfold is not
Anfold is for personal tracking. It is not a medical device and not a substitute for advice from a doctor, dietitian or other professional. Its numbers are estimates and can be wrong.
It also doesn’t track sleep, sync with health apps or wearables, scan barcodes, or make workout plans.
Who makes it
Anfold is made in Berlin by Avocado Technologies UG (haftungsbeschränkt).
The company’s address, register entry and legal contact are in the Imprint.
